As it was stated by the U.S. Transportation Department, in October, there was an increase of road travel by 0.1% to the number of 285.9 billion miles. Thus, traffic volumes are nearing their pre-pandemic levels for the year, providing support for fuel demand.
A rise of vehicle travel over the recent months is explained by a decline of fuel prices. Statistics for October demonstrated that there even was a slight surpassing the level of 2019 that had been registered before the spread of coronavirus. Overall U.S. road travel in the first ten months of the current year is 2.73 trillion miles. This is 1.5% higher than a year ago, but it is still slightly less than the 2.74 trillion miles for the same period of ten months in 2019.
