US stocks rise moderately as investors await trade talk progress

Global stock markets showed mixed performance on Tuesday as ongoing trade negotiations continued to weigh on investor sentiment. US equities recovered slightly after a sharp 2% decline, while the dollar fell to a 15-month low. Investors are now looking ahead to earnings reports from Tesla and Alphabet for insights into corporate strength, as noted by Bloomberg.

BlackRock’s Ben Powell highlighted that the global economy is shifting into a new phase, a transition hastened by US President Donald Trump’s trade policies.

Meanwhile, Beijing urged other nations to avoid entering agreements with the United States that could harm China's interests. Chinese leadership emphasized the risks to the global economy posed by escalating tensions between the world's two largest economies. Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba pushed back against US tariff demands in a Monday statement, the agency reported.
