Tesla begins work to expand its plant in Germany

Tesla's Berlin electric car plant in Grunheide is one of the most important factors, it’s playing a major role in the company's development in Europe. To grow steadily, the company needs to expand the plant's territory, thus, cutting down nearby forests has already begun.

According to a Tesla spokesman, at the moment, the company managed to increase the territory by about 70 hectares (173 acres). The new territories will be used for warehousing. It should increase the logistical potential of the plant due to the proximity of the railroad tracks. The company's initial goal was to increase the territory of the plant by 100 hectares.

Joerg Steinbach, the economy minister for the state of Brandenburg, has a positive attitude towards Tesla. In his opinion, the presence of such a company in the country has a good effect on the country's development.

At this point, it’s unclear how long it will take to expand the plant’s territory. In addition to cutting down trees, it’s necessary to obtain approval from the local authorities responsible for environmental protection. And it is also important to resolve disagreements with local residents, who believe that the plant uses too much water and becomes a threat to nature.
