On Tuesday, Adobe Inc. unveiled a set of new software tools aimed at simplifying the creation of three-dimensional digital objects for marketing campaigns, video games and the metaverse.
Adobe's tool called "3D Capture" makes it possible for a user to turn photos of a real-world object into 3D models. According to Francois Cotten, senior director of marketing for Substance 3D and metaverse at Adobe, at first the tool will be implemented in e-commerce. For instance, customers will be able to try on the shoes virtually before ordering them and see how they fit with the augmented reality technology and 3D models.
Adobe's second tool unveiled Tuesday allows artists to edit a three-dimensional object on a computer and interact with it in a VR headset. Cotten noted that using this software, artists will be able to shape the object with their hands and have the precision working on the computer. According to him, the transition from one process to another is extremely useful in the workplace.
