Google Alphabet Inc. and Israel's Reichman University have opened a school for high-tech professionals, offering sales courses in computer programming and data analysis among other subjects, the university said.
Israel has a vibrant high-tech sector, but a severe shortage of qualified tech workers has led to a thousand unfilled vacancies.
The courses will be rolled out over the next few weeks, and students who complete the school's courses will receive credit for further study, the university said.
The courses, to be held at Google's Tel Aviv campus and Reichman University in Herzliya, Israel, will focus on programming, software testing, business development, sales and data analysis, and Google will offer scholarships to participants.
