Demand for gold surged to an 11-year high last year. This is due to large-scale purchases on the back of high activity by retail investors and a slowdown of ETF outflows.
The economy in Germany will be in recession for at least three quarters. This is the economic forecast made by the Handelsblatt Research Institute (HRI) for Germany.
Since the first half of the year was not bad for the economy as a whole, the German economy is forecast 1.4 percent growth this year; HRI economists expect a 0.4 percent decline in 2023.
