US natural gas supplies still limited due to winter storm

Natural gas deliveries are still severely hampered due to frozen wells and pipelines after Winter Storm Elliott.

BloombergNEF published an estimated forecast based on past pipeline supply volumes. According to the data, Monday's fuel production for power generation and heating will reach 90 billion cubic feet, which is considered 10% below average.

On Dec. 24, production was down to 84.2 billion cubic feet. There was, however, a slight improvement on Sunday. It was due to utilities from Texas to New York urging customers to save energy to conserve supplies.

According to the Weather Channel, temperatures in the city of Midland, in the important manufacturing state of Texas, will rise to 59F (15°C) this afternoon, while the northeast will maintain below zero degrees until next Tuesday.
