On Dec. 24, production was down to 84.2 billion cubic feet. There was, however, a slight improvement on Sunday. It was due to utilities from Texas to New York urging customers to save energy to conserve supplies.
According to the Weather Channel, temperatures in the city of Midland, in the important manufacturing state of Texas, will rise to 59F (15°C) this afternoon, while the northeast will maintain below zero degrees until next Tuesday.
