On Thursday, the management of Amazon declared it plans to fill 150,000 seasonal vacancies in the U.S. to fulfill customer demand during the holiday period.
Many employees of various types are required: packers, order pickers, sorters, and delivery men. The recruitment announcement was made a few days before another major Prime Day event.
Last week the company announced that it will increase the salary for the employees working in the warehouse and the delivery service. With this increase, workers will receive $19 an hour averagely depending on location. Previously, the average salary was $18 an hour.
Also, on Thursday, it was announced that the company will give additional bonuses within a range $1,000 - $3,000 for recently opened holiday vacancies in several states. The states with the biggest number of vacant positions include California, Illinois, and Texas.
